MNI BRIEF: ​​​​UK Nov Inflation On Reduced Item Count

UK inflation data was computed with a reduced basket in November, as 72 items were unavailable for both the CPI and CPIH baskets due to closed shops and services, the Office for National Statistics confirmed Wednesday. The ONS said that compared to 90 items unavailable at the height of the first lockdown in April. The ONS also noted the missing items accounted for 17% of total monthly spend, down from 20% at the time of the April collection.

Overall, UK consumer prices rose an annualized 0.3% in November, down from 0.7% in October, the ONS said.
