MNI BRIEF: 'Very Small Number' Of Policy Dissenters - Lagarde

The European Central Bank's Governing Council held a 'friendly, open and substantive' discussion on monetary policy and how to accommodate the new policy framework, President Christine Lagarde said Thursday in response to a question from MNI, accepting that the outcome was not unanimous, although dissenters represented a 'very, very small number' of the GC.

Lagarde said divergence was 'at the margin' and therefore 'reinforces the collective direction we have discussed.'
