MNI: China to Promote Globalization, Push State-Led Econ: Xi

MNI (London)
BEIJING (MNI) - China will continue to open up to the rest of the world,
promote globalization through supporting open and non-discriminatory
multilateral trade systems, and add new growth momentum through building on the
One Belt, One Road initiative, President Xi Jinping said Tuesday.
It will "resolutely" strengthen and develop the state-owed economy while
supporting and directing the development of non-state sectors, Xi said in a
speech in Beijing marking the 40th anniversary of the country's reform and
opening-up policy.
"China's development is inseparable from the world, and the world's
prosperity needs China," Xi said. It won't sacrifice other nations' interests
for its own development, nor will it give up its own rights, Xi said.
China will actively participate in the reform and building of global
governance systems and carry its responsibilities as a "large nation," Xi added.
