MNI: Key Points In September Existing Home Sales Data

     WASHINGTON (MNI) - The following are the key points from the September
existing home sales data released Friday by the National Association of
Realtors:
     -September existing home sales +0.7% to 5.39M, while August was unrevised
at 5.35M.
     -Hurricane impact in Houston area was short-lived but other parts of Texas
saw declines. 
     -Existing home sales in Florida-22% year/year, will wait to see recovery
pace next month.
     -Hurricanes may have lasting impact on home starts, as construction
resources pulled to rebuilding not creating new inventory.
     -September resales in Northeast unchanged, Midwest +1.6%, South -0.9%, and
West +3.3.
