MNI: PBOC Net Drains CNY150 Billion via OMOs

BEIJING (MNI) - The People's Bank of China (PBOC) injected CNY150 billion
via 7-day reverse repos with the rate unchanged at 2.2% on Friday. This resulted
in a net drain of CNY150 billion given the maturity of CNY300 billion of reverse
repos, according to Wind Information.
- The operation aims to offset the maturity of reverse repos and the impact of
government bond issuances, the PBOC said in a statement on its website.
- The 7-day weighted average interbank repo rate for depository institutions
(DR007) rose to 2.1857% at 09:35 am local time from the close of 1.9819% on
Thursday: Wind Information.
     - The CFETS-NEX money-market sentiment index closed at 33 on Thursday vs 32
on Wednesday. A higher index indicates increased market expectations for tighter
liquidity.
