Monday 23 September:
- United States: The House Rules Committee meets at 1600ET amid a busy legislative week. The Committee will prepare a number of measures for the House floor, including a resolution condemning President Joe Biden and 13 other administration figures for the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan. The House will also take up the ‘clean’ Continuing Resolution that is set to maintain federal government funding for a further three months and avoid a government shutdown. The CR will also have to pass the Senate, but the stripped-back measure without the controversial SAVE Act attachment will pass and avoid a pre-election shutdown.
