MNI: US DATA PREVIEW: JOBLESS CLAIMS SEEN SLOWING TO 1.335M
-----------------------------------------------------------
- Another 1.335 million Americans likely filed for jobless claims for the first
time in the week ending June 20, market consensus forecasts show (range 1
million to 1.5 million). That's down from 1.508 million the week before but
would still mark a startling 14 weeks of claims above 1 million workers as the
economy plunges into a pandemic-led slump.
- Continuing claims through June 13 are projected to decline slightly to 20.0
million from 25.44 million the preceding week.
