US VIEW: Moody's Global Economic Outlk adds: "global econ. expansion should
continue into the rest of 2017 and 2018, led by strong growth in advanced
economies. It said "G20 economies will collectively grow at an annual rate of
slightly more than 3% in 2017 and 2018," vs. last yr's 2.6%. "With considerable
slack remaining in some euro area economies and some emerg.mkt countries, the
current pace of growth around 2% in advanced economies and more than 5% in emerg
mkts is not only sustainable in the nrterm, there is potential for upside, said
author Elena Duggar. "The global economy continues to maintain solid momentum."
- It said "surprisingly strong data" prompted "upward revisions to 2017 growth
forecasts for China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Turkey. With
clear signs that the expansion is likely to be sustained through 2018 in these
countries, Moody's has also raised real GDP growth forecasts for next yr.
Moody's lowered growth projections for India, Saudi Arabia, S.Africa" and US."
Cited geopol risks: "potential conflict in Korean Peninsula," S.China Sea,
