More on OBR timing

UK
  • Just to clarify Stride's comments mean the OBR could get a full forecast done by the end of October and a first iteration/timetable to the Chancellor by 7th October.
  • So pressure is on Kwarteng now to bring forward the Budget from 23rd November to the end of October - and ideally before the next BOE MPC decision which is due to be published on 3rd November.
  • Note that an end-October OBR forecast/Budget still wouldn't allow it to be fully incorporated into the BOE's forecasts unless the BOE meeting was pushed back to accommodate this - which is very unlikely.
