Mozambique Set for First Coral-Sul Cargo by End Oct

The first cargo from ENI’s Coral-Sul 3.4mtpa floating LNG project is due by the end of October but force majeure has not yet been lifted on the 13.12mtpa Mozambique LNG project.

  • TotalEnergies declared force majeure on Mozambique LNG in April 2021 after a series of militant attacks near its facilities. There is still work to be done to make the site completely secure according to project deputy head Stephane Le Galles last week. They are expecting to make a decision on the resumption of work by March.
  • ExxonMobil are yet to take a final investment decision on the proposed 15.2mtpa Rovuma LNG.
  • The EU said earlier this month it would provide additional support to an African military mission in Mozambique which is fighting the insurgency.
