US DATA REACT: MS's Ellen Zentner noted that the US "Core CPI rose 0.1% (0.127%
unrounded) in September, lowering the year/year rate at/to 1.6% from 1.7%. With
food up 0.1% and energy up 6.1%, headline CPI rose 0.5%, lifting the year/year
rate to 2.2% from 1.9%."
- She adds that "incorporating today's CPI and yesterday's PPI inputs, our
initial forecast for September core PCE inflation is 0.15%M, holding the
year/year rate at 1.3% (1.34% unrounded vs 1.29% last month). Headline PCE
inflation should rise 0.39%, raising the year/year rate to 1.6% from 1.4%."
