AMERICAS OIL PRODUCTS: N. America’s Jet Fuel Demand to Rise 0.7% on Week: BNEF

  • Total implied jet fuel demand across North America is set to rise 0.7% in the week to March 10 at 1.63m b/d. This puts it up around 4.5% year-on-year.
  • For the US alone, jet fuel demand is also seen up by 0.6% to 1.38m b/d in the week to March 10. It is projected to jump by a further 5.8% in the seven days to March 17 to 1.46m b/d.
  • Domestic US flight schedules across the US are seen rising 0.1% in the week to March 10 to 154,665. Domestic schedules are then seen rising by 4.9% in the week to March 17 at 162,192.
  • International schedules from the US are seen rising 0.7% in the week to March 10 at 16,930.
  • For the following week to March 17, international flights are expected to rise by 6.8% on the week to 18,089.
  • US daily commercial passenger numbers Feb. 25-March 4 rose 4% week-on-week, according to TSA data. BNEF expects a continued rise as spring-break travel picks up.
