Narrow Ranges In Asia, No Spillover From Yen Volatility

NZD/USD prints at $0.6170/75, the pair is little changed from opening levels. A narrow $0.5155/75 range has been observed for the most part in Asia today, there has been little spillover from the volatility in USD/JPY as of yet into the wider G-10 space.

  • NZD/JPY was down as much as 1.2% before paring losses to sit ~0.4% lower at ¥88.50/55.
  • AUD/NZD is see-sawing around the $1.07 handle in narrow ranges this morning.
  • Domestic newsflow has been light and wider swings in risk sentiment ahead of NFP will be the main driver in Asia.
  • Looking ahead, the highlight of next weeks docket is Wednesday's Q3 GDP print. A rise of 0.1% Q/Q is expected, the prior read was 0.9% Q/Q.
