Narrowing Of Fiscal Gap In DC Supports Risk, Chunks Of Asia Away

EQUITIES

The apparent narrowing of the fiscal divide on the Hill has provided some light support to e-minis in a holiday thinned Asia-Pac session.

  • A combination of technical issues in Japan, in addition to the holiday period in Hong Kong, China and South Korea, limited regional Asia-Pac equity trade on Thursday, although the ASX 200 did draw support from Wednesday's bid on Wall St. and the uptick in e-minis during Asia-Pac hours.• Nikkei 225 closed due to technical issues at present, Hang Seng closed, CSI 300 closed, ASX 200 +1.6%.• S&P 500 futures +18, DJIA futures +187, NASDAQ 100 futures +59.
