NBH Calls on Credit Institutions to Strengthen Liquidity Management

HUNGARY
  • The NBH called on credit institutions to proactively strengthen their liquidity management due to liquidity risks caused by recessionary effects and potential absorption phenomena affecting bank deposits.
  • Banks that do not apply a recommended liquidity buffer above the regulatory limit or an intervention level can count on continuous monitoring and priority central bank data requests - higher than before.
  • To support a unified banking interpretation of the topic, the NBH will soon publish a new, updated management circular on the methodology for the Supervisory Liquidity Stress Test and its related expectations.
