NBP To Publish November Meeting Minutes

POLAND
  • The NBP will publish its December Financial Stability Report at 0900GMT/1000CET and the minutes from its November monetary policy meeting at 1300GMT/1400CET. The outdated nature of the latter document means that it is unlikely to have much of a market impact. During his last post-MPC press conference of the year, Governor Glapinski said interest rates are at "optimal" levels but refused to call a definite end to the rate-hike cycle.
  • Ruling Law and Justice Chairman Kaczynski said that his MPs will reject the no-confidence motion against Justice Minister Ziobro of Solidarna Polska next week, adding that he was "convinced" that Prime Minister Morawiecki will personally speak in Ziobro's defence. He noted that there is no reason why the two parties shouldn't run on a joint list in the next general election. This is despite boiling tensions within the ruling coalition, which a source from the Finance Ministry described to Money.pl as a "total war."
  • BusinessInsider reports that the opposition is ready to vote with the government to approve a bill liberalising the rules on investing in wind energy in order to move Poland closer to meeting the EU's milestones for unblocking access to recovery funds.
