Nigerian Oil Output Slips Further in September

Nigeria produced 1.14 mn bpd of crude and condensate in September – 42,000 bpd fewer than in August according to figures from the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission.

  • Output has declined steadily since the first quarter of 2020, when Nigeria produced roughly double the amount, according to the data.
  • Nigeria aims to add 500,000 barrels a day to its production by the end of November, mainly by resuming operations at Shell Plc’s Trans-Niger pipeline and Forcados terminal.
  • The countries oil production has been hit by theft, vandalism and underinvestment in key infrastructure.
