Nord Stream 1 Gas Flows Steady Today

NATURAL GAS

Gas flows on Nord Stream 1 to Germany are stable today after yesterday’s restart from Russia.

  • Physical flows were at 29,191,527 kWh/h for 0700-0800 CET (0500-0600 GMT), compared with levels around 29,000,000 kWh/h the previous day.
  • Concerns remain about the security of flows through the pipeline, particularly as issues with the turbine replacement drag on and Putin has said flows could drop to 20% from early next week due to further maintenance requirements.
  • The turbine, blamed by Russia for NS1 running at 40%, is still stuck in Germany with Russia apparently unwilling to receive it. European gas prices have firmed this morning against the heightened uncertainty.
  • TTF AUG 22 up 5.7% at 164.4€/MWh
