Norway Gas Supply Tightness To Ease Next Week

NATURAL GAS

Norway’s supply reductions amid annual maintenances are expected to ease next week as works at the Troll field and Kollsnes processing plant are scheduled to end, however, unplanned outage extension may provide further risk to supply, Gassco data showed.

  • Works at the Troll field, with an unavailability of 21.5mcm/d, are scheduled to end on 4 July, while the Kollsnes plant with an unavailability of 39mcm/d is scheduled to return on 3 July.
  • The market continues to be closely watching works at the major Nyhamna plant, after an unplanned outage delayed its return from seasonal maintenance until mid-July.
  • The 79.8mcm/d Nyhamna facility went offline on 19 May for yearly maintenance. The plant processes gas from the major Ormen Lange and Aasta Hansteen fields and is scheduled return by July 15, from 9 June previously scheduled.
  • The Ormen Lange field is also scheduled to return mid-July, after undergoing maintenance since 19 May, affecting 24.2mcm/d.
  • Pipeline imports from Norway today are at 234.4mcm/d.
