A yellow warning has been issued for heavy snowfall in the mountains of Southern Norway, starting Thursday afternoon, according to the Norwegian Meteorological Institute, cited by NRK.

  • Strong winds combined with snow are expected to cause snowdrifts, reduced visibility, and hazardous driving conditions.
  • Norwegian wind is expected to increase to a 47% load factor, or 2.47GW on 21 February, edging up from 2.15GW forecasts for today, according to SpotRenewables.
  • Wind will then be between 1.4-1.9GW over the weekend.
  • Snowfall has also been revised up on 24 February by as much as 1.8cm, ECMWF show. It is expected between 0.7-6cm over 24-28 February.
