Norway Strike Negotiations Continue

Norway could face a fall in crude production if strikes go ahead next week according to a statement by the Norwegian Oil and Gas Association today.

  • “A possible strike could have consequences for production on affected fields.” The statement says, following with “A turnaround on Valhall is due to run until 24 June. Strike action would delay the resumption of production there.”
  • Talks are ongoing over the weekend to try and avert a strike which has been prompted due to wage demands.
  • Strikes are not taking place on Norwegian gas assets given the energy security situation Europe faces after Russia has shut supplies to numerous countries in the region.
