Norway’s Hammerfest LNG Cargoes Mostly Head To Europe Since Outage

Norway’s Hammerfest LNG export facility has been shipping most of its cargoes to Europe since the restart in June, according to S&P Commodity Insights

  • Norway’s Hammerfest LNG export plant with a capacity of 4.3mn mt/yr restarted in June after a 20-months outage.
  • Since the restart, most of the cargoes have been heading to Europe, with a total 33, and one cargo has been shipped to Argentina, as European gas hub prices have been trading at a premium to other markets.
  • France has been the largest LNG offtake in Europe, totalling 11 LNG cargoes.
  • Before the start of the outage, cargoes regularly shoppes to non-European markets such as Argentina, Brazil, China, India and Japan.
