AUSSIE BONDS
AUSSIE BONDS: Nothing on the docket for Aussie bonds today. Aussie bond futures
lower on SFE after closing SYCOM flat. Aussie bonds seeing some downside as
stocks in Asia-Pac gain, the metals complex strengthens and the US Senate passes
a bill to temporarily fund the government.
- Yields higher across the curve, rising for the 5th consecutive day. Curve bear
steepens, 3-/10-Year spread 1bp wider at 52.8bp, recent steepening move has
bought the spread off the lowest levels since October 2016.
- There is a full session for Aussie bonds today (usually a half session before
Christmas break) but there will be no T+1 session. Aussie bond markets will
return to the fray on December 27th.
