The greenback is slightly stronger on the session, essentially unchanged from this time yesterday as markets tread water ahead of US CPI data and speech from US President Biden tomorrow. Some light risk aversion evident as Israel's IDF says more rockets are being fired at Tel Aviv with an emergency UN council scheduled tomorrow.

  • News flow has been light with limited regional data; AUD and NZD both lower with NZD bearing the brunt of the selling so far down around 3 pips and 10 pips, respectively.
  • JPY is softer, USD/JPY up around 13 pips. Thursday's BoP current account balance & Eco Watchers Survey headline the local docket during the remainder of this week.
  • CNH has gained, USD/CNH down around 22 pips at 6.4266, still some way off this week's lows of 6.4041. Markets look ahead to FDI data which could hit during the session today.
