Defense orders boosted US durable goods orders to +0.6% in Oct, 
rebounding from a downward revised -1.4% decline in Sept and beating 
market expectations of -0.9%. It's the highest since July's 2.1% rise. 
Orders have been up four of the last five months. Excluding transport, 
orders also up +0.6%. Defense orders +16.6%; nondef aircraft, parts +10.7%.
