EMISSIONS: October ROCs Hit Three Months Low

The latest Ofgem data showed that the UK Renewables Obligation Certificates (ROCs) issued in Oct 2024 hit a three-month low, and an eight-year low in seasonality.

  • A total of 7.2 million ROCs were issued to generators in Oct 2024, the lowest level in three month and down by 25% year on year.
  • The equivalent electricity generation from those certificates in Oct 2024 was at 5.116TWh, down by 27% both year on year and on the 2023 monthly average.
  • Latest ROCs issued data are published with a three month lag.
