The rate of expansion registered in China's official PMI readings slowed further in February, with the surveys released over the weekend. A reminder that the travel restrictions in play during the Lunar New Year break meant that employees could make a quicker return to work than usual, the headline manufacturing PMI reading still missed broader median expectations.
