Offshore Inflows To Japan Stocks Continued For A 12th Straight Week

The streak of foreign investment inflows (+¥535.1bn) into Japan stocks continued for a 12th straight week (ending June 16). The pace of inflows was slower compared to the prior week, but remains close to the average inflow pace seen in recent months. Offshore investors were net sellers of Japan bonds though, -¥634.8bn.

  • Japan outflows to global bonds picked up noticeably, rising to ¥1056.2bn, marking the 6th straight week of outflows to this asset class.
  • Purchases of foreign equities rose ¥122.9bn, reversing the previous week's fall, but continuing to show an indifferent trend.
