OIL PRODUCTS: Russia’s Oil Product Exports Fall to Four-Month Low

OIL PRODUCTS

Russia’s oil product exports dropped to a four-month low in August, mainly due to a sharp slide in diesel shipments, Bloomberg said.

  • Seaborne fuel oil exports averaged 2m b/d in August, Vortexa data showed. This is down 11% on July and one of the lowest totals in recent years.
  • Diesel and gasoil volumes are around 40% of all Russian exports and slumped to their lowest since Oct. 2023, down 20% to 760k b/d. In October 2023, loadings were limited during an export ban.
  • The fall was attributed by Vortexa to a key outage at the Mozyr refinery in Belarus which supplies a relevant portion of the Russian market, coupled with diesel being kept for domestic use.
  • Gasoline exports also fell 70% to just 30k b/d, while Naphtha exports fell 6% to 406k b/d, the lowest since June.
  • Fuel oil shipments rose slightly, and jet fuel flows trebled to 56k b/d.
