POWER: OX2 Submits EIA for 2.4GW Finnish Offshore Wind Project

Swedish developer OX2 has completed the EIA for its 2.4GW Halla offshore wind farm in Finland, with the project being the first offshore wind farm to submit an EIA in the country, it said.

  • The project is expected to have 160 turbines and produce around 12 TWh/yr once commissioned. However, the exact date of operations was not provided.
  • The project is owned by Halla Offshore Wind Oy - a JV owned by OX2 and Ingka Investments, part of the IKEA Group.
  • The firm will also submit the EIA for its 11 TWh/yr Laine offshore wind farm – also located in Finnish waters.
