Pakistan May Seek 15-Year LNG Deal with Qatar

LNG

Pakistan may seek a 15-year LNG deal with Qatar during the forthcoming visit of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif according to The News International.

  • The deal could be for two cargoes a month with a reopening price clause after 11 years.
  • Pakistan needs LNG supply from Qatar due to struggles securing supplies in the high priced spot market.
  • If agreed this would be a third LNG supply agreement with Qatar with a potential deal to start from 2025 or 2026. Previous agreements were signed in Feb 2016 and Feb 2021.
