PBOC Injects CNY170 Bln at OMOs Tuesday; Liquidity Unchanged

BEIJING (MNI) - The People's Bank of China injected CNY100 billion in
seven-day reverse repos and CNY70 billion in 14-day reverse repos via
open-market operations Tuesday, Wind Information, a Shanghai-based financial
data provider, said.
This resulted in a net zero injection/drain for the day. A total of CNY170
billion in reverse repos matures Tuesday.
The CFETS-ICAP money-market sentiment index ended at 66 Monday, the last
day of July, from 45 at Friday's close. The lower the reading the better
liquidity in the interbank market.
The PBOC is expected to make an official announcement on its website about
Tuesday's OMOs at approximately 9:45 a.m. Beijing time.
The benchmark seven-day repo average was last at 2.6587% compared with
2.8025% Monday.
