SPAIN: Pedro Sanchez confirmed as prime minister following second investiture
vote in parliament. 
- Sanchez narrowly won the required simple majority, with 167 votes in favour,
165 against, and 18 abstentions. 
- While the confirmation of a gov't will end the lingering uncertainty that has
dogged Spanish politics since the November 2019 general election.
- However, the Catalan separatist Republican Left of Catalonia (ERC) will expect
some notable concessions from Madrid with regards to the region's future
political status, given that the ERC abstained on both investiture votes,
allowing Sanchez to become PM. 
- The gov't will also require consistent outside support for its legislation,
given that the governing coalition does not hold a majority in the Congress of
Deputies.
