Percentage Of Americans Who Believe The Country On Right Track Increases

US

According to Morning Consult, the percentage of Americans who believe the country is on the right track now stands at 30%, after rebounding from a low of 23% on July 28.

  • The bounce is most pronounced amongst women. On July 2, one week after the Supreme Court reversed Roe vs Wade, 19% of women and 31% of men reported that the country was on the right track.
  • That divergence has since tightened significantly with 33% of men and 28% of women now reporting that the country is on the right track.
  • When controlled for party affiliation, the data shows a significant increase in the percentage of Democrat voters reporting that the country is on the right track, likely due to a strong legislative period in in June and July. Recapturing the Democrat support base is seen as key to the Democrats retaining control of Congress in November's midterms and although the data will be encouraging for Democrats, the trend will have to continue in the next two months to avoid electoral losses.
