Unconfirmed social media reports stating that Prime Minister Boris Johnson has stated that 'there still remains nothing in the data' that would mean the proposed removal of all COVID-19 restrictions in England, penciled in for 21 June, would have to be pushed back.

  • The gov't has delayed its announcement of whether the 21 June unwinding of restrictions will go ahead, stating that it needs more time to assess the recent data showing a sharp rise in cases due to the spread of the Indian/Delta COVID-19 variant.
