POWER

Poland’s Orlen Synthos Green Energy (OSGE) is now cleared to begin environmental and location studies for its SMR projects in Wloclawek and Ostroleka following new resolutions issued by Poland's General Director for Environmental Protection, it said.

  • The approval will allow OSGE to prepare the EIA Report for both projects, which should take around two years.
  • The SMRs will be around 300MW of capacity and will use GE Hitachi’s BWRX-300 reactors.
  • OSGE also recently received the same approval for an SMR unit in Stawy Monowskie – southern Poland.
