Poland To Apply For German Tank Re-Export Permit, Wind Farm Bill On Parliament's Agenda

  • Government spokesman Piotr Muller told reporters that Poland will formally ask Germany for a permission to transfer Leopard 2 battle tanks to Ukraine "in the coming days," but wants to do it together with a coalition of states.
  • Opposition Polska 2050 leader Szymon Holownia said that senior EU officials told him that the adoption of a court bill by Poland would not automatically lead to the release of recovery funds, as suggested by the government, as the Commission would first need to review the legislation. The movement's lawmakers voted against the adoption of the draft bill.
  • A parliamentary committee will begin work on legislation liberalising the rules on building wind farms, which is one of the requirements for unlocking EU recovery funds.
