Poland’s RES auctions sold 16TWh of electricity for PLN 5.1bn (€1.2bn) in 2024, with PV installations dominating the winning bids owing to 198 PV offers and just 2 for wind, Poland’s regulator URE said today.
- For PV and wind projects above 1MW 105 producers submitted 174 bids, primarily for photovoltaic projects, with 15.4TWh sold for PLN4.9bn.
- This includes over 1.48GW of solar capacity and 90.8MW of onshore wind.
- Prices ranged from PLN244.80/MWh for solar and PLN149/MWh for wind, with maximum prices of PLN334.77/MWh for solar and PLN175/MWh for wind.
- Additionally, in the auctions for PV and wind projects below 1MW 46 producers submitted 96 bids, all for photovoltaic projects.
- A total of 0.74 TWh was sold for PLN0.25bn with prices ranging from PLN297.78-388/MWh.
- In total this year 44.6TWh was put up for sale, but some categories, such as biomass and agricultural biogas, failed to meet the required number of offers and were not resolved.
Of the seven auctions held in December, only two were resolved.
