Polish Coal Production Down On The Year, Lignite Up

Polish hard coal production decreased by 1.2% on the year in April, while lignite production increased by 5% year-on-year, according to the Polish statistical office GUS, cited by ISB news.
- Hard coal production amounted to 3.51 mn/t in April – down by around 2.9% compared to volumes in March.
- Over January-April, hard coal production decreased by 3.7% on the year and amounted to 14.99 mn/t.
- But lignite production increased on the year to 3.14 mn/t in April but was down by around 6.6% on the month.
- Over the first 4 months of this year, lignite production totalled 13.19 mn/t – a 4.5% fall year-on-year.
- Rotterdam Coal Qtr JUL 24 up 1.6% at 119.7 USD/MT.
