Potential motion for an election coming..........>

UK
UK: Potential motion for an election coming today... Could take different forms.
- Sun's Tom Newton-Dunn: "Geoffrey Cox appears to have let slip that Boris
Johnson is going to table a third FTPA vote to try to force a general election.
Tells SNP MP: "Can I encourage her then to vote for the election motion that
will be coming before the house shortly?""
- But earlier, Cox said "All we need is a one-line bill...that we could put
through, fixing the date of the general election."
- A key difference: FTPA requires 2/3 majority of MPs to call election; one-line
'notwithstanding' bill requires simple majority to call election.
- Also: Guardian's Heather Stewart: "Labour not ruling out backing a one-line
bill setting an early date for a general election, I understand - as long as the
Benn bill can be made watertight. Government previously rejected the idea,
fearing it could be amended - but Geoffrey Cox resurrected it this morning."
