FED: ### POV, Barring any last minute ruminations, US President Trump is
expected to announce his choice for Fed chair appointment this Thursday.
According to New Zealand based prediction market PredictIt, chances of current
Fed board governor Jerome Powell being confirmed on February 4 has risen to 90%.
Widely deemed a centrist/dove, a Powell appointment isn't likely to shake
markets up much as he carries on Janet Yellen's legacy. The surprise/tail event
would be Stanford economist John Taylor pick, currently a distant second with
9%. Deemed hawkish, rates are likely to react negatively (Tsy curve
bear-flattening) as they price in faster policy normalization.
