EURO-DOLLAR: ### - POV - ECB Draghi to speak in Lindau Germany this morning at
0700GMT which draws interest. Recent Eur strength cited on anticipation that
Draghi could hint at tapering QE when he speaks at Jackson Hole Friday, though
recent ECB source comments have suggested that no major policy change will be
announced at this event. However, one WSJ continues with the suggestion that he
could provide a hint, though any decision would more likely be made at the Sep7
ECB meeting. One major German bank sees chance he could hint at such a move at
this morning's event. Eur-Usd did pare some of its recent strength Tuesday as
the Usd made gains on suggestions that the Republicans in the US had made
progress on their discussions for the debt ceiling and tax reforms. However,
comments from US Trump last night that he was prepared to shut down Govt to get
funding for the Mexican Wall has countered some of that effect. As for Draghi,
market is seen long Eur/Usd ahead of the events this week and therefore open to
disappointment, but tapering is approaching and any react dip lower expected to
meet willing buyers. Support seen at $1.1745-20 with upside to gain more
interest on the break of $1.1847.
