US TSYS/STOCKS: ### POV: EXPECT STOCK/BOND SHIFTS INTO THIS MONTH-END/YEAR-END:
(Refile)
- Today marks Nov. 30th month-end, and there are shifts possible into year-end:
- 1) SELL stocks/vs. BUY US Treasuries (stocks rose more in 2017). SocGen urged
to go long 10Y US Tsys/vs. short S&P 500.
- 2) BUY stocks and Treasuries (pension funds who are under-funded need to boost
contributions, will get more bang for tax buck if they do it this year; they
thus could buy HYBRID funds of 60% stocks/40Y bonds.)
- 3) BUY US high-grade bonds/vs. sell high-yield bonds (SocGen urged to move up
in asset quality into 2018: urged short US high yield debt/vs. buy 2Y Treasury
note)
- 4) SELL high-tech stocks as 2017 FAANG craze means they're overvalued; BUY US
financial stocks. (Nasdaq up 25.8% year to date; KBW ETF PowerShrs KBW Bk
Portfolio ETF is 53.98, yr's high, as accounts shift some $ to bk shares, which
shd earn more in US rising rate environment amid expected Dec. US rate hike.)
