The EIB has approved a €120mn loan to Iberdrola for research and innovation projects to accelerate energy sector decarbonisation, supporting development in solar, wind and hydropower, it said. 

  • Additionally, the funds will be used for projects in green hydrogen, heat pumps, and electric mobility.
  • The projects are a part of Iberdrola's 2024-2026 strategic decarbonisation plan.
