POWER: EnBW’s Grid Stabilization Plant March 4 to Start End September
POWER
EnBW’s 300MW Marbach 4 grid stabilisation gas plant will be handed over to the grid operator on 30 September, after being in a commissioning phase since 17 July, remit data showed.
- Previously, the plant was scheduled to be handed over on 16 September.
- Germany’s Bnetza decided to have new generation plants built in southern Germany following the phase out of nuclear energy, the increased use of renewable power and the insufficiently quick grid expansion.
- The plant was initially scheduled to start commercial operations in October 2022 but global delivery problems, material supply bottlenecks, plant closures and staff shortages have delayed construction works, EnBW said.
