POWER: RWE Receives Bid For Almost Full Volume in Green Tender

POWER

RWE in Germany has received almost 3TWh of bids – equal to the offered volumes – for its green tender that ended on 16 August, spokeswoman Regina Wolter told Montel.

  • “From a pure volume perspective, we were offered almost 3TWh, but commercially we were not able to accept all offers and are currently negotiating the most attractive ones,” Wolter said.
  • Most bids were submitted for onshore wind and solar PV, with also some offers from offshore wind.
  • In early July, RWE has launched a “green tender” to purchase up to 3TWh of additional green energy for 2025 and 2026 due to high demand, the utility said.
  • The utility is targeting operators of solar PV and wind parks that would market electricity as “other direct marketing” since they do not receive subsidies under the German EEG scheme anymore.
