POWER: TVO Reduces Output at OL3 Reactor on Technical Error

TVO has reduced output at the 1.6GW OL3 nuclear reactor in Finland to 750MW due to a technical problem, according to remit data and Bloomberg.

  • Available capacity will be reduced to 750MW on 9 Oct 11:04-11:30 BST, to 390MW 11:30-16:00 BST to 1.22GW 16:00-23:00 BST and to 1.57GW until late February 2025.
  • “The Olkiluoto-3 unit was in normal production when the reactor’s safety automation unexpectedly drove one control rod into the reactor”, TVO told Bloomberg.
