Preliminary Trade Deficit Narrows to $6.17bln

  • Turkey’s trade deficit narrowed to $6.17bln, according to preliminary figures announced by the trade minister. January exports rose 3.6% y/y to $20bln while imports declined 22% y/y to $26.2bln.
  • CBRT Governor Hafize Gaye Erkan will hold a briefing on the 2024 Inflation Report on February 8. There will be a Q&A session after the briefing.
  • There are no other data releases on the docket today, with CPI data the highlight next week (Prior: +64.77% y/y).
