JAPAN: President Abe recently called for a snap election for as little as 3
weeks on Monday, he also announced his plans to dissolve parliament this
Thursday. Yesterday Tokyo's Governor Yuriko Koike formed a new party named
'Party of Hope' which Japan Today reported has few policy differences.
Bloomberg reported a survey conducted by the Mainichi newspaper Sept 26-27 said
18% of respondents said they would vote for Koike which will put her party
second behind Abe's ruling Democratic party on 29%. Furthermore, the Nikkei
newspaper reported the two party's could merge, the decision will be announced
Today.
