  • The publication of new opinion polls ahead of the Czech presidential election is now prohibited until the first round of voting wraps up on Saturday afternoon. The ballot papers should have already arrived at voters' permanent addresses. Candidates are trying to sway the public opinion in their favour as the campaign enters the final stage, with all eyes on a televised debate with the leading three contenders on Wednesday.
  • Former Prime Minister Andrej Babis' campaign received a boost from a court decision to free him of fraud charges yesterday. Hours after the announcement of the verdict, the billionaire politician said that he would be meeting French President Emmanuel Macron today. This allowed Babis to surpass Danuse Nerudova in a ranking based on betting markets pricing, albeit Petr Pavel remains firmly in the pole position.
  • The CNB will publish changes to its balance sheet in the final 10 days of December.
